100th Post Giveaway!!!

To celebrate 100 posts I am following in Melanie's footsteps (and apparently many others) with a giveaway. All you have to do to enter is make a comment and tell me your favorite thing about Christmas! You will have until 8:00 pm Friday, November 14th to enter.

What will the lucky winner get? Well, I thought long and hard about this and changed my mind several times, but I finally decided to share with you one of my VERY favorite things to do at Christmas. At night, I absolutely love turning all the lights off except the Christmas tree, snuggle up with a blanket and listen to beautiful Christmas music. So, the winner will receive a cuddly fleece blanket and a Josh Groban Christmas CD.

Good luck!

One more surprise. I have a second winner prize pictured below. It is a fabulous little scraper for dish scrubbing that will (supposedly) not scratch your pans. Love it!

Ooh, I get to go first! I love the same thing, turning out the lights and watching the tree with the christmas music playing. But, I need to be original. There's so much I love about Christmas. I LOVE it in the past when we go for a drive to see the Christmas lights when those big fluffy flakes are coming down (with christmas music on, of course!) I miss going to Temple Square to see the lights.

I also love Josh Groban and I love cozy fleece blankets and I love those little pan scrapers (although I am surprised you didn't choose the mayo knife).

Pick me! :)

OK Joy - this is a historic event - not only is it your 100th post but this is my very first comment! I love christmas lights and music too, in fact I think I love everything about Christmas. But since you have asked for one favorite - I would have to say it is Nativity Sets. I can't wait to decorate this year because I recently got 2 new nativities for our collection.

My absolute most favorite thing about Christmas is to help Melanie do the dishes when there's baked on Christmas goodies stuck to the pans. Okay, actually, I have the same favorite thing as you, Joy. I love to get a big blanket, turn off all the lights, and lay down on the couch and watch the lights on the tree glitter.

My second most favorite thing to do it to tell my kids that Santa Claus is a hoax.

Can I get entered into your drawing? I actually would really like the pan scrubber.

This is actually very hard to think of my one favorite thing at Christmas. I love the music, the lights and the smell of goods and a fresh tree.
But I think what will be fun this year is my little one is so excited for Christmas and for Santa to come. His eyes just dance at the sight of Christmas. To see his eyes dance and his big smile with happiness and excitement has got to be the best thing yet this year for Christmas. (not to mention my hubby will be home this year, so cuddling up with light off, tree light on, Christmas music playing, and a blanket will be memorable.) I have a lot to look forward this Christmas, I can't wait!! I will have many favorites to dwell on this Christmas!!
Merry Christmas!!!

Ahh, I've been trying to decide what I'll do to mark my 100th post...Nice decision you made!

As random as this is, I think my favorite thing about Christmas this year is listening to the things that Spencer is starting to remember from last year. That's how traditions get started, right? It's super fun to know that not only does he 'get' Christmas but that he has his own memories already!

And sorry I'm such a comment snob...I really do read all your posts and always mean to comment but run out of time!

My favorite thing about christmas is being with family, and gift giving! I love giving people gifts. I love shopping for them. I love creating things for my loved ones, and I love to see their faces as they open gifts that I thought hard about.

Oh, fun! 100 posts - that's impressive! My favorite part of Chirstmas is Christmas morning watching my kids do the sibling gift exchange and how excited they get to watch each other open presents that they picked out.

Joy...I have many favorite things when it comes to Christmas. If I had to narrow it down, it would be the traditions. I love going shopping early morning on the day after Thanksgiving & then coming home & setting up the tree & decorating the entire house until it looks like Santa threw up. I love baking all the favorite goodies all within a 30 day period. I love taking the family to Temple Square to see the lights at least once before Christmas Day. I love all the Christmas parties, attending Santa Lucia (A Swedish production Nathan's kids all participate in.) I love turning on the lights on the tree & singing carols & thinking about why we really celebrate this holiday. I love opening up pajama's on Christmas Eve. I love waking up at an abnormal time on Christmas morning. I love the LONG WINTERS NAP the entire house takes because we all got up WAY too early.
These are the some traditions, when put together makes traditions my most favorite thing about Christmas.

Joy: My favorite thing about Christmas has got to be.... hmmmm...Josh Grobin singing Christmas carols. Ha ha. No really, I LOVE to shop for my kids. I love that "perfect" gift for each of them and it is a challenge to me each year. However, my favorite thing is going caroling with my kids. This is something that as a child I remember doing. We would stock up on sweatshirts throughout the year and then take them to the nursing homes and carol and hand out warm sweatshirts. Some years we would puff paint them, other years we cut down the middle and put ribbing/ribbons down the front. It was a year long process and it paid off. Kevan's family caroled year after year and my kids absolutely love it. I can't wait for Christmas this year!!!

BTW: I promise to do a follow up post regarding Obama and his win. I have learned lots and am so grateful for the opportunity to teach my children as this historic election/process continues.

Hi Joy,
I remembered - and before 8:00! I have a fairly large collection of Victorian houses that only get set up at Christmas. We put cotton batting for snow across the top of the piano and on the shelf above it, then set up the village. I have trees, streetlights, and many figurines to use as accents. Each house is lighted, and the streetlights work as well. My favorite thing to do is turn off all the other lights, lie on the couch, gaze at my glowing Christmas village, and pretend I'm actually there. It's so relaxing to envision a place that moves at a shower pace.

It's ten o'clock Friday night, read your blog too late. But what a fun idea. I can't pin-point one thing I love most about Christmas, but I love the change of spirit in the air and among everyone. I LOVE Christmas!

Oops - how bout a place that moves at a slower pace? Also, my collection gets set up, not get set up. Guess I should proofread a bit better, huh? English tutor? Hmmm.

When I was thinking about telling you about my blog I thought the very same thing...."Hmm, maybe I should go through and edit some of my quickly (and poorly)written posts before Teri sees!"

So, no worries!
